ABOUT US

Dealing with the challenges of today, Inky Santa's Toy Drive emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Founded by Nantucket firefighter Tom Holden and his wife Betsy in 1985 as a Toys for Tots affiliate, The Inquirer and Mirror signed on the following year when editor and publisher Marianne Stanton put the reach of the newspaper behind the effort after returning from a trip to a rural community in West Virginia and seeing that the newspaper there was trying to raise $10,000 to make Christmas a little merrier for those in need. Inky Santa's Toy Drive was reimagined and recreated in 2015 to remain a strictly local organization. We are dedicated to providing assistance during the holiday season to children of families in the Nantucket community. We rely on the support of our community to help bring a cheerful holiday experience to all of Nantucket.
